Taking stock of the situation and building influence

Attending the workshop will help you to:

• assess the current situation regarding board priorities, sustainability knowledge and potential barriers;
• develop communication that speaks to board-level; and 
• build influencing skills and strategies.

The workshop features Caroline Frost, of Caroline Frost Consultancy, who has over 23 years of experience in developmental work including coaching, training, group facilitation, and designing and running courses for leaders and senior management. She specialises in working with senior teams on communication skills and what she calls the ‘tough’ skills – focusing on achieving results with people rather than through them. Caroline understands the pressures inherent in senior roles having served on the board of a large multinational media company. The workshop will be moderated by OckiPro’s Emma Chynoweth.

 

There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the biggest challenges you face when trying to influence your board, as well as what’s worked and what’s not.

 

It will also include an exercise using a ’circle of influence’ tool being developed by OckiPro.

 

This workshop is for sustainability leaders who:

• are preparing to engage their board on new sustainability plans;
• have established programmes that have struggled to gain full backing from the board;  
• had some success engaging their board, but are looking for specific board outcomes; or
• have some great examples of board engagement to share with peers.
